It is unquestionably some of the most expensive medical care you can buy, and it's available right here in town. We're talking about the ER ... the Emergency Room at your local hospital.

The 'ER error' is made at countless businesses across the Midlands every day. An employee is injured on the job and the employer sends that employee to the emergency room. The bill to the employer is really 'impressive'. Employee satisfaction with the services provided is not.

There IS a better way to handle routine workplace injuries. A better way to prevent accidents and illnesses. A better way to promote health and safety at your business. A better way to partner with your employees to manage soaring workplace health costs.

The better way is First Care.
A LEADER in Occupational Medicine in the Midlands area.

From the early 80's to the present, occupational medicine (OM) has become a specialty in and of itself. Yet many businesses, small ones in particular, continue to use the local ER as their primary or only source for OM services. Often, it's a senseless waste of money and resources, not to mention that injured employees may not get the personal attention they deserve. That's why First Care is a better choice for your occupational medicine needs.

First Care has years of experience with occupational medicine. It began with Dr. Izard's involvement with the largest occupational medical practice in the world—the United States Army Medical Corps. After leaving the Army, Dr. Izard worked full time as an emergency room physician, handling countless cases of workplace related injury and illness. Today, Dr. Izard is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental medicine, has completed special training in disability determination & evaluation, and training as an MRO (Medical Review Officer) for drug screening.

Through a program we call "BizMED", First Care handles physical exams or work related injuries for a wide variety of companies, including ...

Fedex Ground Southeastern Stages Zestos
Fluor-Daniel Corp. Olive Garden McDonalds
Community Thrift Stores SC Dept. of Mental Health Johnson Food Services
Red Lobster Sub-Station II JC Penny
PPG Compendium Services
(for all state employees)
Rush's

We have also recently been selected to provide services for the U.S. Army Reserve, including physical examinations and administering vaccinations such as anthrax and yellow fever. Plus, Dr. Izard is the local medical director for Voridian Corporation, formerly Eastman Chemical. At First Care, we KNOW occupational medicine!

Think you aren't big enough for BizMED?

Think again. You do not have to be a huge corporation to enjoy the benefits of occupational medicine at First Care. In fact, we now specialize in serving small businesses of all types, including fast-food restaurants and retail stores. Even if you are a part of a large, national franchise, we can help you establish an on-site safety department and well organized safety training services.

Valuable Services. Invaluable Results!
Many small businesses depend on part-time and young employees. Those employees are prone to more than their fair share of minor accidents and injuries on the job. Not only have we been highly successful at helping smaller businesses manage these healthcare costs, their employees are much happier with the quality of health services we offer, including...

Employment & pre-placement physical exams
Drug screening services
On-site workplace safety evaluations
DOT physical examinations
Hearing conservation programs
Practically any OM need you may have

Becoming a First Care occupational medicine client costs you nothing. The benefits it will pay are invaluable. When you become our client, we’ll provide you with forms to send along with each injured employee insuring that treatment and evaluation are properly authorized. We will also keep you informed of the results of every visit by an injured employee ... maintaining appropriate patient medical confidentiality, of course. Plus, we will send you (via your employee) a written statement as to the employee's condition and work status, i.e., can he/she work regular duty, limited duty or not work at all.

Quality medical care for injured employees is less expensive in the long run. The most important goal of our occupational medicine program is to provide the highest quality of medical care possible to an injured employee ... without compromise. Our promise to employers is to provide that care in a way which conserves financial resources whenever possible. It is a widely accepted truth that we all function and recover more quickly if we are in an encouraging and productive setting. This is precisely why, at First Care, we try to get injured workers back to some form of light or limited duty as soon as possible. Of course, this is never taken to an extreme where an injured employee is returned to duty just to sit in a chair to prevent the employer from having a recordable OSHA event.

At First Care, we are 100% confident we can have a positive effect on your bottom line and your employee's state of mind by delivering...

Quality medical care for injured employees...
Preventive measures to decrease the incident of future injuries at your workplace...
A relationship with your employees that lets them know you truly care about their well-being, and ...
Fewer unhappy, injured employees and a happier and more productive work force.
